We’re seeking a Head of Funen to lead the development and management of FLAs onsite presence in Odense. Through strong stakeholder management, this role entails setting a volunteer team and building meaningful relationships with universities, companies, and local leaders, while fostering valuable connections with students, professionals, and partners.
The incoming Funen team is pivotal in building and growing FLA’s local presence with high ambitions. The team drives the strategy for establishing and expanding FLA in Odense and across Funen, ensuring that the organisation’s impact, reach, and community are deeply rooted in the region.
Tasks:
As Head of Funen, the Volunteer agrees to support the Organisation by undertaking the following tasks:
Local strategy & execution: Driving the setup, execution, and growth of FLA activities in Odense and across Funen in close alignment with the national strategy.
University & student engagement: Building and maintaining strong relationships with SDU and local student organisations to secure talent pipelines and awareness. This also includes establishing a strong local presence and ensuring that FLA hosts a minimum of two leadership events per year onsite at SDU.
Partner & stakeholder relations: Identifying, onboarding, and nurturing partnerships with local companies, organisations, and community stakeholders to support events, academies, and community building.
Leadership Events for Professionals: Coordinating and executing FLA Professionals events and community activities in Funen (minimum 2 per year), ensuring high quality, engagement, and participant satisfaction.
Team coordination: Recruiting, leading, and motivating a local volunteer team, ensuring strong collaboration and clear responsibilities. This includes recruiting the following positions:
Recruiting and building local teams: As Head of Funen, you recruit and lead two volunteer teams – one for professionals and one for students – to strengthen FLA’s presence and deliver local activities. If you like leadership and recruitment, this role is for you!
Communication & representation: Acting as FLA’s ambassador in Funen, representing the organisation in meetings, partnerships, and public forums when needed.
Operations & reporting: Overseeing local operations (venues, logistics, budgeting) and ensuring close alignment with FLA HQ and the FLA Aarhus team to share best practices and drive impact across regions.
Skills:
- Leadership & coordination: Ability to recruit, motivate, and guide volunteer teams with clarity and purpose.
- Stakeholder management: Skilled in building trusted relationships with universities, companies, and partners.
- Event execution: Organised and detail-oriented in planning and delivering high-quality events.
- Collaboration & initiative: Proactive, reliable, and able to work both independently and as part of a wider national team.
Time:
- This is a part-time volunteer role requiring up to 10 hours per week.
